WED 2017: Samsung launches essay completion for young nature fans

Ahead of the fast approaching 2017 World Environment Day, Samsung Engineering has launched an essay competition for young nature fans. The organisation is inviting young people from around the planet to enter its 10th annual essay competition.

The competition, run in partnership with UN Environment, is designed to support the World Environment Day theme of ‘Connecting People to Nature.” The prizes include a Samsung Galaxy Tab S.

“We would like to provide children and youth a chance to show their love and affection for our shared natural world by writing an essay on the value of nature,” the company said on its TUNZA Eco-Generation youth website.

The competition also aims to collect young people’s “inspiring and creative ideas on how we can rediscover the value of nature.”

The competition is open to members of the TUNZA Eco-Generation networking platform aged between 13 and 24. Entries should be submitted by 5 June.

The World Environment Day is celebrated every on June 5 every year around the world to raise awareness on the need to care for the planet.
