The African Natural Resources Centre of the African Development Bank will host a high-level West Africa gas competence seminar at Hotel Tiama in Abidjan from 17 to 18 April 2018.
The seminar will highlight the transformative potential of natural gas for established and new gas producers in West Africa.
Participants will discuss strategies to unlock the natural gas potential for domestic and regional markets. They will gain a better understanding of current downstream developments, conducive policy frameworks and market dynamics.
The African Natural Resources Centre has produced a series of analytic reports and a case study to guide policy decisions to promote natural gas value chains and gas domestication in Africa. The seminar will examine some of the findings of this work. It will bring together policy makers, industrialists, operators in mid and downstream natural gas production, investment bankers and members of academia. They will share their experience and devise strategies to harness to the full potential of natural gas value chains.
The South Korean government is financing the seminar through the Korea Africa Economic Cooperation programme.
Seminar participants will come from Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mauritania, Nigeria and Senegal.
